Through the years, staff, students, families, friends and supporters alike, have partnered to develop Sts. Leo-Seton Catholic School into the exceptional school it is today. Great advancement has been made since the doors opened in August, 1959. Beginning with only four grades and 86 students, SLS has since grown to 550+ students enrolled in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. Today, SLS is proud to offer a thorough and thoughtfully planned religion curriculum, progressive technology program, diverse athletic opportunities, creative art and guidance departments along with collaborated grade level instruction. Through the years, as the curriculum and programs developed, the campus has expanded from one hallway of eight classrooms. We now have more than 25 classrooms, a chapel, multimedia library center, full-service gym and improved athletic fields. Following years of discussion and research, the SLS Advisory Council approved the next capital construction project, a much-needed junior high building. SLS is currently in the midst of a critical capital campaign to assist in financing this project. During the 2009-2010 school year, SLS will recognize and celebrate its 50 years of spiritual and educational service to the Diocese of Lafayette and the people of Acadiana. Although many major and minor projects are directed by the development department, the prevailing concentrations are management of collected information and ongoing communication among current student body families, alumni, supporters and facilitation of the Planned Giving and SLS Foundation programs. We invite you to contact the development office for more information about any of our ongoing and upcoming projects, as well as how you can be a part of the family of Sts. Leo-Seton Catholic School.
